What & Who:
Mississippi Development Authority and participating southeast NASA centers including Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama; Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans; Stennis Space Center and NASA’s Shared Services Center, both near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi; Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida; and Johnson Space Center in Houston, invite media to attend the business-to-business expo “Launching Connections” on Aug. 27 in Jackson, Mississippi.
Companies and industry groups will connect with NASA program representatives and contractors with the goal of becoming familiar with opportunities associated with working with NASA. Participants will network to learn about business opportunities with NASA centers and featured NASA programs, including the Ground System Development and Operations, the Orion spacecraft and the Space Launch System — NASA’s newest heavy-lift rocket capable of sending humans to deep-space destinations.
Moderated panels and informative update sessions are scheduled with speakers including Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant; Stennis Deputy Director Jerry Cook; Michoud Assembly Facility Deputy Director Mike Kynard; and key Marshall Center personnel including; Johnny Stephenson, acting director of the Office of Strategic Analysis and Communication; Keith Hefner, associate program manager of the Space Launch System Program Office; and David Brock, specialist in the Office of Small Business Programs.
When & Where:
Aug. 27 – The expo will be hosted at the Jackson Convention Complex, located at 105 E. Pascagoula St. in Jackson from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To attend: On Aug. 27, media should report to registration on the second floor of the Jackson Convention Complex.
