Ikhana, the first remotely piloted aircraft to fly in national airspace without a safety chase plane led Aviation Week & Space Technology to select it as a winner of its 62nd Annual Laureate Awards, in the category of Commercial Aviation, Unmanned Systems. The 2018 flight was a collaboration among NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center in California, General Atomics, Honeywell and the Federal Aviation Administration.
