NASA crew chief Pat Lloyd readied the Large Area Collector sensor for a cosmic dust collection flight. Carried by one of NASA high-altitude ER-2s, silicone oil sticky pads placed on the device’s front plate captured microscopic material during flights at an altitude of 65,000 feet.April 24, 2009
