NASA, Industry Boost Opportunities for Small Businesses with Mentor-Protégé Agreement

NASA and Boeing will announce a Small Business Mentor-Protégé Program agreement Tuesday, July 26, at Boeing’s Commercial Crew and Cargo Processing Facility (C3PF) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The NASA Mentor-Protégé Program provides a platform for large companies, such as Boeing, to assist eligible small businesses with strengthening business and technical capabilities in order to successfully compete for larger, more complex prime contract and subcontract awards.

Media are invited to hear senior officials from NASA and Boeing speak, and tour C3PF where Boeing is building the CST-100 Starliner in collaboration with NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.

Participants include:

  • Glenn Delgado, associate administrator of NASA’s Office of Small Business Programs
  • Robert Cabana, Kennedy center director
  • Joyce McDowell of Kennedy’s Small Business Office
  • John Mulholland, vice president and program manager of Boeing Commercial Programs
  • Kathryn Lueders, manager of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program

Media should arrive at Kennedy’s Press Site no later than 8:15 a.m. EDT. Media buses will depart at 8:30 a.m. Return to the Press Site is targeted for 10:30 a.m. Attendees must wear long pants, fully closed shoes and shirts with sleeves.

The deadline to apply for U.S. media is 4 p.m. Sunday, July 24. International media accreditation is closed for this event. Media must apply for credentials online at:

https://media.ksc.nasa.gov

All media must present two forms of unexpired legal, government identification to access Kennedy. One form must include a photo, such as a passport or driver’s license. Questions about accreditation should be directed to Jennifer Horner at jennifer.p.horner@nasa.gov or 321-867-6598. For additional information, contact the Kennedy newsroom at 321-867-6598.
