NASA Glenn Celebrates 75 Years of Exceptional Technology Achievements at Technology Day 2016

NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland will celebrate a legacy of innovation and explore its role in NASA’s Journey to Mars at Technology Day 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, May 24 in the center’s hangar.

Technology Day 2016 is open to aerospace and technology representatives, local business leaders, state and local government officials and members of academia.

The event and parking are free. Registration is required.

At 8:30 a.m. John Sankovic, Glenn’s director of the Office of Technology and Incubation and Innovation, will give the opening remarks.

During the event, NASA Associate Administrator for the Space Technology Mission Directorate Steve Jurczyk, Glenn’s Director of Space Flight Systems Bryan K. Smith and NASA astronaut and U.S. Navy Capt. Sunita Williams will lead a panel discussion about “NASA’s Journey to Mars: Science Fiction Meets Reality.” Williams is one of four astronauts supporting the agency’s Commercial Crew Program and its work with U.S. companies to return human spaceflight launches to the United States.

In celebration of 75 years of technology contributions, Glenn’s Technology Transfer Office is offering two special licensing promotions: Half-off on upfront fees for NASA QuickLaunch License and a signing ceremony for NASA’s Evaluation License. To qualify the licensee must be a U.S. company and must submit a completed application online between Monday, May 16 and Wednesday, May 25. 

Attendees will also be able to explore Glenn’s cutting edge technology developments, engage in partnership building and identify areas for future collaborative innovation; discover opportunities to license Glenn’s technologies, explore NASA’s patent portfolio; learn how to do business with Glenn, explore contracting opportunities and learn about cutting-edge technology developments.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., registrants will be able to participate in facility tours, networking opportunities and 50-minute breakout sessions including:
