NASA Extends University of Maryland Cooperative Agreement For Research

NASA has extended the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) cooperative agreement to continue valuable research performed by the Center for Research and Exploration in Space Science & Technology II (CRESST II).

The cooperative agreement with NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, is valued at $178 million and extended through March 2027.

The University of Maryland and its four research partners will collaborate with scientists in the Sciences and Exploration Directorate at Goddard on observational, experimental, and theoretical research in support of NASA’s strategic science mission objectives in the study of the solar systems, stars, galaxies, and the universe at large. The work under this agreement supports community access to space science data archives and analysis of scientific data from current and past NASA missions.

UMD’s partner research institutions are: University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Catholic University of America, Howard University, and the Southeastern Universities Research Association.
