Michael Madden is the Chief Scientist for the Simulation Development and Analysis Branch at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC). Mr. Madden received his Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1997. Prior to joining NASA in 1999, Mr. Madden was a Senior Software Engineer at Unisys Corporation for six years. While at Unisys, he worked as a member of the development team for the Langley Standard Real-time Simulation in C++ (LaSRS++) , an object-oriented product line for simulations. LaSRS++ continues to form the foundation of all simulation products running in Langley’s high fidelity simulators. In addition to his participation on the EOM Verification and Validation Check-Cases, Mr. Madden current work includes development of national airspace simulation capability for LaSRS++ and the assessment of software architectures for spaceflight projects as a member of NASA’s Software Architecture Review Board. Mr. Madden also continues to improve LaSRS++and mentors developers on LaSRS++, simulation modeling, object-oriented design, and software engineering.
