In this standards-aligned exercise, students will use different approximations of pi to estimate the Orion spacecraft’s target landing zone.
With this exercise, students will:
- Calculate the area of Orion’s target landing zone (a semicircle) using two different approximations of pi.
- Find the difference of the two areas.
