NASA Awards Systems Engineering Advanced Services Contract

NASA has awarded a contract to Alcyon Technical Services Joint Venture, LLC of Huntsville, Alabama to provide mission and instrument systems engineering services for the agency’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

The Systems Engineering Advanced Services contract is an 8(a) small business set-aside, cost-plus-fixed fee, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, with a minimum ordering value of $3 million and a maximum ordering value of $188 million. There is a 45-day phase-in period scheduled to commence on or about Sept.1, followed by a five-year contract ordering period. Individual efforts may extend beyond five years.

The contractor will provide mission and instrument systems engineering services to the Mission Engineering & Systems Analysis Division and related Applied Engineering and Technology Directorate organizations at Goddard. The work involves the formulation and implementation of flight and ground systems and development and validation of new technologies.

The contract also provides services in all aspects of mission and instrument formulation and implementation for systems, science instruments, observatories, launch, ground system, spacecraft, and suborbital craft, such as aircraft, sounding rockets, unmanned aerial vehicles, balloons, including services for free-flying spacecraft, suborbital craft payloads and International Space Station payloads. The principal work will be performed at Goddard and the contractor’s facility.
