Professional Biography
Dr. Robert Windhorst works for NASA Ames Research Center as an Aerospace Engineer. He researches future air traffic management concepts and technologies and specializes in guidance, optimal control, simulation, automation, scheduling, conflict detection and resolution, and dynamics. He has authored over 40 journal and conference papers. At Ames, Dr. Windhorst has served in management and research roles and has been awarded multiple honors including NASA’s Equal Employment Opportunity Award. In addition, Dr. Windhorst currently serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics. His ongoing focus is on building a digital twin of the National Airspace System and using it to validate future air traffic management and aircraft concepts.
