
Michael Doty
Aerosciences, Deputy Director, Acting Research Directorate at NASA’s Langley Research Center
Dr. Michael Doty currently serves at the acting Deputy Director of Aerosciences and previously served as the Head of the Aeroacoustics Branch since 2015. He has over 20 years of technical and programmatic experience investigating various aircraft noise sources. Mike has a research background in theoretical and experimental jet noise working primarily in the Low Speed Aeroacoustics Wind Tunnel as well as the 14- by 22-Foot Subsonic Tunnel with the Hybrid Wind Body Acoustic Test.
Prior to joining NASA Langley Research Center in 2009, he worked for Rolls-Royce North American Technologies. He also worked as a National Research Council Postdoctoral Research Associate at NASA Langley directly after graduate school. Mike received a B.S. in aerospace engineering from the University of Notre Dame and an M.S. and Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.
