Lori began her NASA career in 1989 as a high school student in the Secretarial Sciences Co-op program through NASA Langley Research Center. After high school, she continued on to Thomas Nelson Community College and earned dual Associate’s degrees in Office Automation and Word Processing. Upon completion of her program, Lori was converted to full-time status and spent her early career as a branch secretary for several different research branches at Langley. She later changed career fields to become an Administrative Officer, handling a myriad of personnel and budget related matters. During this time, she went back to school and earned her BA in Business Administration with a specialization in Computer Information Systems from Saint Leo University in 2004. Also in 2004, Lori again changed career fields and became a Management and Program Analyst. She has provided budgetary support to several Directorates, including the Research Directorate and the Ground Facilities and Testing Directorate. In 2015, she moved to the Aeronautics Research Directorate where she served as the Business Manager for four years. In 2019, Lori moved to her current position as L2 Resources Analyst for the Game Changing Development Program Office. Lori has earned a number of awards throughout her career, including the NASA Exceptional Service Medal and the NASA Silver Achievement Medal. She also gave the commencement speech at her Saint Leo graduation ceremony, as the Langley Air Force Base campus class representative.
