Professional Biography

Christine Martinez is currently the Assistant Branch Chief of Astrophysics in the Space Sciences Division. She has worked at NASA Ames Research Center since 2005 where she started as a student intern in the Acquisition Division. In 2007 she was hired into NASA civil service where she spent her time working as a Contract Specialist/Officer negotiating research and development efforts for various space and aeronautics programs and projects across the center. She joined the Astrophysics Branch in 2013 as the Assistant Branch Chief and has since supported many scientists and researchers working on various space research and NASA Agency goals. Some of those programs and projects include JWST, SOFIA, OSIRIS-Rex, CORSAIR, KEPLER, K2 as well as many other research efforts both at Ames and across the agency. Christine is passionate about connecting others to create synergy across diverse audiences. In her spare time, she enjoys creating, Broadway musicals, traveling to far off places, spending time with friends and family and directing children’s programs for her community.
