Dr. Ken Lebsock – NESC Academy Biography

Twenty years ago when Dr. Lebsock started supporting NASA at GSFC he already had an extensive background in the dynamics and controls of space vehicles based on his previous experience with Military, Intelligence Community, University, and commercial customers. He has served as GN&C engineer or lead ACS Engineer on several GSFC spacecraft programs including WIRE, TRACE, AURA, and JWST. He was responsible for initiating and organizing the successful on-orbit demonstration of a new Time Optimal Slew Control Law using the TRACE satellite prior to it being decommissioned.

Dr. Lebsock has supported NESC since 2005 and currently serves as the Technical Discipline Deputy for Guidance Navigation and Control Systems.  He was responsible for initiating and organizing the successful on-orbit demonstration of a new Time Optimal Slew Control Law using the TRACE satellite prior to it being decommissioned. He is the author of numerous technical papers on the analysis, design, fabrication, test, and operation of spacecraft attitude control systems.
