NASA has selected four companies to provide vertical lift technology development services to in support of NASA’s mission-driven science and engineering. The companies are:
- American Systems Corporation of Chantilly, Virginia
- CFD Research Corporation of Huntsville, Alabama
- Monterey Technologies, Inc. of Park City, Utah
- Science and Technology Corporation of Hampton, Virginia
The contract will support the Aeromechanics Office at the NASA’s Ames Research Center in California’s Silicon Valley and provide services to other NASA centers and the Department of Defense. The procurements will support the development of technology to provide safe, quiet and affordable vertical-lift air vehicles for civilian and commercial transportation and services, including new missions and markets.
These technologies will expand capabilities of conventional and new vertical takeoff and landing aircraft needed for advanced air mobility in an integrated airspace environment. The Department of Defense will use procurements to support vertical lift technology to advance its current capabilities.
This procurement was conducted as a 100% total small business set-aside. It is a multiple-award hybrid contract with cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price technical services indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract line item numbers.
The period of performance consists of a five-year base period, resulting in a maximum potential performance period of five years. The minimum amount of indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity services that will be ordered during the effective period of this contract is $5,000. The maximum indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity value is $24 million. The total potential value including maximum indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity value is $24 million.
The majority of work will be performed at the contractors’ facilities with some work being performed at NASA’s Ames Research Center.
