
Gerst tests flames in MSG
iss040E012309 (Jun. 16, 2014) --- European Space Agency astronaut (ESA) Alexander Gerst conducts two flame tests for the combustion investigation Burning and Suppression of Solids (BASS) in the Microgravity Science Glovebox (MSG) aboard the International Space Station. This experiment studied how flames burn and can be extinguished in space, informing fire safety methods for future spacecraft.
