Expedition 1 crew members visit Moscow’s Red Square

(Bill) Shepherd. While in Moscow, the trio also visited the grave of Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin (1934-1968). Paying respects to the first man in space is customary in Russia prior to a spaceflight.
