Williams installs packed bed reactor experiment in MSG

iss071e485832 (Aug. 15, 2024) --- Retired NASA astronaut Suni Williams installs the experimental life support hardware for the Packed Bed Reactor Experiment (PBRE) inside the Microgravity Science Glovebox aboard the International Space Station. This investigation studied the behavior of gases and liquids when they flow simultaneously through a column packed with a porous media. Investigation findings inform the performance of packed bed reactors, a technology that can be used in life support systems in spacecraft.
