Greetings From Apollo 8
Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 1968: Mission commander Frank Borman, command module pilot James Lovell and lunar module pilot William Anders gave the world a holiday greeting from lunar orbit, as the Apollo 8 crew became the first humans to leave Earth's gravity and reach the moon.
