Working on the Integrating Sphere

In this long-exposure shot, senior engineer Alok Shrestha works on a calibration device called an integrating sphere, which is used to calibrate a variety of instruments by providing a specific amount of light. This tool is part of the Airborne Sensor Facility at NASA's Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley, which builds, maintains, miniaturizes, and calibrates instruments.
