Why is it important for there to be women in Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) jobs at NASA?
Women are part of life! Having women at NASA in ICT fields opens the agency to multi-dimensional thinking and ideas. The best work comes from a diverse workplace, not a homogenous one. Besides, many of the traditional barriers to women entering the workforce have been conquered by communications technologies themselves. Access to the internet, cell phones and teleworking policies and technologies have made a profound impact to ICT work – even if you have other obligations as a mother or caregiver. If a young woman asked me if they should get involved in ICT or at NASA, I say, “Do it! We need you.”› We Are NASA SCaN Image Gallery
