What makes your job at NASA exciting or unique:
I have the opportunity to inspire, excite and ignite the imagination of the public. Watching people learn and get excited about the work we do in SCaN fills me with great pride. I also have the great opportunity to recruit the next generation of engineers and non-engineers into the SCaN Internship Project. This offers me the amazing opportunity to see the bright and engaged minds that will lead SCaN and NASA into the next era of discovery.
How does your position contribute to NASA’s mission of exploration:
I work with a fantastic team of people to plan and execute the formulation of project budgets, schedules, and other Program, Planning & Control (PP&C) elements that ensure that existing and future space communication projects reach their full potential. Communication and navigation are critical for successful space exploration and for many other NASA missions. As NASA works to travel farther into the universe, these technologies need to adapt to new challenges and my work helps make sure that happens.
What is your favorite thing about working for NASA:
My favorite thing about working for NASA is the people! I believe that I’m working with some of the smartest people on the planet, and every day brings the promise of some new engineering breakthroughs!
