Mt. Murphy broke the monotony of the mostly flat and barren icy white landscape of West Antarctica during the science flight there on Nov. 19. Fractures in the glacial ice of the Pine Island Glacier were evident in this photo taken during the last flight in the Fall 2010 Operation IceBridge environmental science mission as the glacier moved slowly into Pine Island Bay.November 19, 2010
