Title: Superboom Caustic Analysis and Measurement Project (SCAMP)

Designer: David Faust/Graphics

Year it was designed: ~2010 (SCAMP flights were in April-May 2011 (with more in early 2012), WSPR flights were Fall of 2011. There was considerable planning before the flights, so they were probably designed a year or two before we flew.)

Explanation or story behind the logo: The SCAMP patch shows the F-18 that was used to generate focused sonic booms. Each red dot represents sensors, 80+ on the ground, one on the wingtip of the motorglider, on the tether of the blimp, and on the GPSsonde weather balloon. Cuddeback Dry Lake is in the background past the microphone ground array. Not represented on the patch are nearfield probing flights done in Jan-Feb of 2012.
