The F-4A (Navy serial number 145313) arrived at the Flight Research Center (later redesignated the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center) on December 3, 1965. It was damaged by an in-flight explosion on July 25, 1967. Able to land despite the explosion, it was later returned to the Navy.1965NASA Photo / NASA photo › F-4A Project Description
