On Sept. 19, signatory nations to the Artemis Accords met for the first time in person at the International Astronautical Congress in Paris. In a productive and dynamic discussion chaired by NASA Deputy Administrator Pam Melroy (right-center foreground, in profile); Carlos Moura (at left in a gray suit), president of the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB); and Philippe Baptiste (far side of the table, looking down), president of the French Space Agency (CNES), the signatories discussed common concerns and ways to move the Accords forward. The Artemis Accords establish a practical set of principles to guide space exploration cooperation among nations for the deeper exploration of the solar system.
