Atlas V Separates from Centaur, OSIRIS-REx

A camera on the Centaur upper stage captured the moment of first stage separation as NASA’s Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security-Regolith Explorer, or OSIRIS-REx spacecraft leaves Earth. The first U.S. mission to sample an asteroid, OSIRIS-REx is designed to retrieve at least two ounces of surface material and return it to Earth for study.
