iss065e430900 (Sept. 28, 2021) — Expedition 65 Flight Engineers Shane Kimbrough of NASA (foreground) and Thomas Pesquet of ESA (European Space Agency) prepare to install the multipurpose experiment platform (MPEP) inside the Kibo laboratory module’s airlock aboard the International Space Station. The MPEP would host a small satellite orbital deployer attached to it before being placed in the vacuum of space outside of the orbiting lab.
