4840 – Walter C. Williams Research Aircraft Integration Facility currently houses research project aircraft.

Current Use: Active; research project aircraft.

Capacities: Six high bay aircraft test areas; three on each side of building in three physically separated areas.

  • Test bays 1, 2, & 3 are located behind a single door that is 50’H and spans 225′ (combined size is 135’D x 225’W – large enough for a single transport-size aircraft to be placed in the multiple bay area).
  • Test bays 4 & 5 have a common door that is 125’W x 40’H (combined size is 99’D x 125’W).
  • Test bay 6 has a door that is 100’W x 40’H. Test bay 6 is 99’D x 97’W. A full-height wall separates test bays 5 and 6. This is a secure hangar.

Test areas use portable ground equipment for hydraulics and air systems. Comfort cooling available through chillers.

Unique Capabilities: Aircraft-in-the-loop simulation, secured high bay with secured simulation laboratory. Remotely augmented vehicles systems, simulators, and laboratories; office and avionics laboratories. Ground vibration test capability.
