Exploration and Space Communications
Bringing Technology to Space
NASA’s Exploration and Space Communications (ESC) projects division provides full-coverage communications and navigation services, as well as cross-cutting technical expertise to move NASA into the future. These services are critical to returning ground-breaking scientific data to Earth where it can be used for the benefit of humanity.
Near Space Network
The Near Space Network provides missions out to 1.25 million miles (2 million kilometers) with premier communications and navigation services, enabling spacecraft to exchange critical data with mission operators on Earth.

Engage With Us!
NASA internships prepare young professionals with the skills, experience, and connections they need to thrive in the NASA workplace and beyond. Each intern is guided to success by an expert mentor, networking and engagement resources, and a cross-center intern community. Every intern experience is different, but all the Exploration and Space Communications opportunities task interns to work with their mentors on a semester- or year-long project of measurable importance to NASA’s mission.
