NASA’s GeneLab for High Schools (GL4HS) announces its expanded 2025 summer program! This year, GL4HS will offer a 12-week asynchronous summer training from June 2 to August 29, 2025. The program continues to immerse high school juniors and seniors in space life sciences.

GL4HS offers valuable knowledge and skills for NASA’s space biology research, exploring how biological systems are affected by spaceflight conditions. Students will be introduced to omics-based research methodologies, learning how to analyze complex biological data, such as genetic sequences and protein interactions. The program will also cover bioinformatics and computational biology techniques, equipping students with the skills to process and interpret large-scale omics datasets. Additionally, participants will have the option to practice their scientific practices and communication skills by opting to deliver formal oral presentations of their work.

Deadline: Applications are due on May 15, 2025 by 11:59 PM Pacific Time

Program Duration: June 2 to August 29, 2025

Additional details are available on the official GeneLab for High Schools (GL4HS) website.

Join us this summer to explore the frontiers of space biology and bioinformatics with NASA’s GeneLab for High Schools!
