Background: The Clean Aviation Energy Competition challenges teams of university-level students to conceptualize the source-to-flight lifecycle of a potential future clean aviation energy source, in terms of feasibility, viability, and environmental impact. This study starts with selecting a potential energy source that can be applied to aviation.
Action Required: The 2023 Blue Skies Competition asks teams of two to six students to submit a five-seven page proposal and a two-minute video summarizing the team’s proposal.
Proposal and video submissions are due February 28, 2023. View the full guidelines here.
Finalist teams will receive a $6,000 stipend to participate in the 2023 Blue Skies Forum at a NASA center in June 2023. Winners are eligible for NASA internships in the academic year following the competition.
