Aerothermodynamics Branch – Data

The Aerothermodynamics Branch currently offers test data from the Electric Arc Shock Tube (EAST) dating back to 2009. The data consists of measurements of absolute radiance versus wavelength and shock position for entries relevant to Mars, Venus, Earth, Saturn and Uranus planetary entries. This data consists of:

  • Shot Velocity tables containing details and notes for velocity and spectrometer ranges.
  • 3D Images relaying spectral radiance (in absolute units) versus wavelength and shock-normal distance
  • Cross-sections containing (where possible) equilibrium spectra for each shot and spatiotemporal trend of radiance over certain spectral ranges

More information on how to use the data is provided at the download page.
