Power to Explore Student Challenge

What kind of energy is needed to power a spacecraft capable of reaching Pluto? As we celebrate 60 years of nuclear power for spaceflight, NASA wants to hear about what energizes you. NASA invites students to learn more about the Radioisotope Power Systems that provide energy to explore at the extremes of our solar system. Students are challenged to write an essay about how those systems inspire them, and to think about their own special power and how it motivates them.

Award: All participants will receive a digital certificate and an invitation to a virtual event with NASA experts. Forty-five national winners will receive a NASA Radioisotope Prize pack.
