Dr. Biswas will develop a systematic physics-based approach to design tailored IL mixtures with extremely low melting points designed specifically for single-phase thermal management of spacecraft in harsh environments with a single liquid. The project aims to leverage the unique eutectic behavior of IL’s which allowing mixtures of different ILs to have lower melting points than the individual pure compounds to develop a customized eutectic IL mixture with a melting point lower than 150°K.
