Thermosphere Ionosphere Mesosphere Energetics and Dynamics (TIMED) studies the basic structure of the Mesosphere and Lower Thermosphere/Ionosphere located 40 to 110 miles above the Earth’s surface. TIMED will provide a global picture of the Mesosphere and Lower Thermosphere/Ionosphere to be used as a baseline against which future studies will be compared.
