About Inexpensive Network Sensor Technology Exploring Pollution (INSTEP)
The Trace Gas GRoup (TGGR) is deploying a network of low-cost gas sensors based on a design from the Hannigan Lab at the University of Colorado Boulder. The INSTEP monitors measure a variety of trace gases (CH4, HCHO, CO, CO2, NO2, O3) and will be placed around the San Francisco Bay and Los Angeles areas. Red markers refer to a monitor placed on its own; blue dots indicate monitors co-located with remote sensing instruments for validation purposes. INSTEP will allow the Trace Gas GRoup (TGGR) to better characterize wildfire plumes at ground level.
