At NASA’s Langley Research Center, the year 2020 will be remembered for both big accomplishments and pandemic struggles.
With determination and creativity, Langley’s workforce overcame obstacles and moved forward on NASA missions.
Delve into those triumphs with Langley’s 2020 Annual Report “Together, We Discover,” published today.
Achievements ranged from jump-starting the atmospheric science field campaign called ACTIVATE, which studied how aerosols and meteorological processes affect cloud properties; to contributions supporting the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover mission; as well as progress on sensor systems for Moon exploration; and new, energy-efficient aircraft designs.
“Laboring on high-profile projects and behind-the-scenes support, Langley’s workforce showed amazing focus and resilience in 2020,” said Center Director Clayton Turner. Engineers, scientists, technicians and other staffers embraced new ways of working.
“Also, this annual report reflects the unity and mutual respect that’s always been essential to our success,” Turner said.
