Emberometer Discussion

Michael Gallagher, fire ecologist with the U.S. Forest Service, explains the applications of a box designed to study embers. The emberometer, as the team calls it, was built at the University of Edinburgh's Fire Science Laboratory, and is deployed to provide information on the dispersion of embers during a fire. Gallagher was part of the Fire Behavior team during the April 2025 FireSense campaign.
