Wade at Work

Micrometeorology lead Ryan Wade sits in a mobile radar wind profiler and points to a livestream of a smoke plume as it builds over a prescribed burn at Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia. His team used radar and lidar systems to capture the interactions between wind and fire, and to study smoke particulates. Wade was the micrometeorology team lead during the prescribed burn research campaign led by NASA Firesense, in partnership with the Department of Defense.
