Jeanette Epps works on the BioFabrication Facility-Cardiac Investigation

iss071e000901 (April 6, 2024) and jsc2024e038395 (June 5, 2024) NASA astronaut Jeanette Epps works on BFF-Cardiac, an investigation that used the BioFabrication Facility (BFF) to 3D bioprint and process cardiac tissue, shown on the right. Bioprinting in microgravity produces higher-quality tissues than those printed on the ground, and this investigation is a step toward 3D printing of organs for transplants on Earth.
