A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket stands ready for liftoff from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station’s Space Launch Complex 40 to boost a SpaceX Dragon resupply spacecraft to the International Space Station. On SpaceX’s 15th commercial resupply services mission to the space station, Dragon will deliver critical materials to directly support dozens of science and research investigations that will occur during Expedition 56. The spacecraft also is carrying a new Canadian-built Latching End Effector (LEE), which will replace the failed unit astronauts removed during a series of spacewalks in fall 2017.
