Hubble observes Eta Carina
Image number two from 1991 observes the eruption of an unstable star Eta Carinae. Thanks to the new lenses prospective of the HST, scientists re-drew previous conceptions of the nebula based on the shape of the eruption. Don’t let the small scale of the image fool you – the individual clumps are ten times the size of our entire solar system. And that’s considered small.
