NASA’s Glenn Research Center is having a free public open house at its Lewis Field main campus in Cleveland May 21 and 22, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The center will offer plenty of things to do and see on both days, including

  • Take a walking tour of our research campus and step inside vacuum chambers, wind tunnels and other world-class facilities that have advanced aviation and space exploration.
  • See NASA aircraft used for aviation safety, technology and environmental research, including Lake Erie algae monitoring.
  • Talk to and ask questions of Glenn engineers, scientists and technicians to hear about the exciting work they’re doing right here in Cleveland.
  • See space exploration and aeronautics exhibits and demonstrations.
  • Attend special presentations by scientists and engineers.
  • Enjoy hands-on activities and interactive exhibits for kids of every age.
  • Get social with @NASAglenn during the open house social media scavenger hunts and meetups.

Admission is free, and registration is not required. Food, beverages and NASA souvenirs will be available for purchase.

The NASA Glenn website provides information about security, I.D. requirements, free off-site parking, transportation and more at www.nasa.gov/glenn75.

This is NASA Glenn’s first public open house since 2008. The event is part of a yearlong celebration of Glenn’s 75th anniversary year, which began January 23, 2016. Other anniversary events celebrating include a free open house at Glenn’s Plum Brook Station in Sandusky on June 11 and 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Details about the Plum Brook open house are forthcoming.

The theme of Glenn’s 75th anniversary celebration is “Our Past. Our Present. Your Future.”
