NASA Awards Contract for Aerospace Facilities Support

NASA has awarded a contract to Jacobs Technology of Tullahoma, Tennessee, to provide support for testing, operations and maintenance of ground-based aerospace facilities at the agency’s Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, California.

The Aerospace Testing and Facilities Operations and Maintenance (ATOM)-4 contract is a single award hybrid contract that includes a cost-plus-award-fee contract with core line items (CLINs) and indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity CLINs. The contract has a base period of two years, beginning Feb. 2, followed by three one-year options, and a potential total value of approximately $355 million.

The work under this contract supports two primary facilities operated by the Aeronautics and the Exploration Technology Directorates at Ames — the Unitary Plan Wind Tunnels and the Arc Jet Complex. These facilities support a variety of programs and projects for NASA, other Government agencies, and the private sector.

Test Facilities include, but are not limited to, test chambers, operating systems, drive systems, instrumentation, data acquisition systems and model mounts. Support facilities are the auxiliaries, model preparation areas, and other support systems devoted to one or more facilities.
