Unique Federal City
NASA’s Stennis Space Center operates as a unique Federal City. About 50 federal, state, academic, commercial, and technology-based companies and organizations are located on site. All share in operating costs while pursuing individual missions. The cost-sharing model allows the entities to direct more funding toward missions and positions NASA Stennis as a model of government efficiency.
