Protecting the health of astronauts is a priority at NASA. With a wealth of knowledge collected through years of experience, research, and collaborative partnerships, the OCHMO Standards Team creates and routinely updates guidance documents to inform stakeholders who play a role in human spaceflight on the evidence-based strategies to monitor, prevent, and treat various medical conditions. The ultimate goal is to enable future long-duration space exploration missions to the Lunar surface, Mars, and beyond by optimizing astronaut health and performance capabilities.
