Professional Bio
Dr. Valerie Carr is a Professor of Psychology at San Jose State University, where she has been faculty since 2015. Her research examines factors that influence learning and memory across the lifespan through a cognitive neuroscience lens.
She is the Project Director for two SJSU cooperative agreements, the first involving collaborative research with Code TSF: “Implementing Macroergonomics for Increasing the Safe, Effective, and Efficient Operation of the Entry Systems and Technology Division’s High Enthalpy Facilities: Phase 2.” The second involves a collaboration with the Army at Ames, entitled “Future Vertical Lift: Collaborative Research on Flight Control, Autonomous Rotorcraft, and Human-Systems Interface Design: Phase 2.”
She also serves as a Senior Research Associate on the SJSU cooperative agreement with Code TH, “Human Systems Integration: Collaborative Human Factors Research to Improve the Safety, Efficiency, and Reliability of NASA’s Aeronautics and Space Missions: Phase 2.”
