Seth Schisler

Seth Schisler currently works with TechEdSat. He was recently the SOFIA Proposal Manager for senior review in close coordination with the SOFIA Project Scientist, Dr. Naseem Rangwala. Since arriving at Ames he has been a core part of building a stronger interagency relationship between the center and GSFC/WFF – building potential to leverage currently untapped collaborative opportunities for NASA. During his time at Ames, he has also supported the Engineering Directorate on detail as the interim Space Flight Projects Manager overseeing Ames’s cost-effective small satellite and technology development projects.

Prior to joining Ames, Seth performed numerous duties as a Senior Project Manager for the Range Mission Management Office at GSFC/WFF. He worked multiple management & support roles across a portfolio of civil, commercial and military engineering and spaceflight projects/missions. He has served as a Project Manager and Product Development Lead for a diverse set of missions, engineering projects and range support systems.

Seth performed as the Project Manager for Rocket Lab’s initial mission activities at WFF in coordination with an international, commercial and multi-agency (NASA/USAF) team. He led range engineering and mission support from initial ground-breaking efforts through combined vehicle system testing and validation. In early 2020, he supported NASA’s Commercial Crew Program/SpaceX In-Flight Abort Test as the System Project Manager for the multi-object tracking radar system leading to an overall successful mission and crew capsule certification. Seth was responsible for full end to end logistics, integration, mission dress rehearsal and day of launch support in conjunction with NASA CCP (JSC/KSC), SpaceX, NAVY SCSC, USAF 45th Space Wing in addition to contract support personnel. Additionally, Seth has served in technical oversight roles for mission integration and launch operations for sub-orbital launches and orbital ISS resupply missions across launch sites both local and remote.
