James Losey

Mission Operations Engineer, Contractor, Stratospheric Aerosols and Gas Experiment, Science Directorate, NASA Langley Research Center

James Losey joined the SAGE III/ISS mission operations team in August 2022 with a focus on the contamination monitoring packages (CMPs) on the SAGE III/ISS payload. Prior to working on SAGE III, he received a PhD from Swinburne University of Technology with research interests in physical chemistry and the simulation of fluids using molecular dynamics. Following his studies, he spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow in the Biomolecular Simulations Lab at the University of Arkansas using supercomputers and statistical analysis tools to understand how the motions of proteins and other important biomolecules contribute to their functions. James is a sports fan in his spare time, with a particular interest in basketball, but he also finds time for consuming popular culture and playing trivia.
